League Play

Youth Indoor League

The Youth Indoor League is an "in-house" recreational soccer program for youth players  between the ages of 8 and 14.  Boys and Girls divisions are offered, and players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

The focus of the league is to provide youth soccer players with additional playing opportunities in the winter months where they can have fun, learn more about soccer, and improve their skills and confidence on the field.

There are no team practices in Youth Indoor League, only games.  Games are played on Sunday afternoons (or early Sunday evenings) between January and March.

Games are played under the following format:

  • Game Length - 40 minutes (two 20 minute halves)
  • 5 vs 5  (4 field players + GK)
  • Magic FC club Futsal rules in effect (see document below)

Players and parents are encouraged to organize their own teams, but individuals wanting to play who do not have a team are welcome to sign up as "unattached/free agent" players.

High School Indoor League

The High School Indoor League is a non-travel soccer program for high school players  between the ages of 15 and 19.

Boys and Girls divisions are offered.

The focus of the league is to provide high school players with additional playing opportunities outside of their school season (or between winter club travel tournaments) where they can have fun and improve their skills and confidence on the field.

There are no team practices in High School Indoor League, only games.  Games are played on Sunday nights between January and March.

Players of all skill and ability level are encouraged to participate.  If there are enough teams the league will be structured into A and B divisions (similar to Varsity/JV in school) and each team or player can choose the division that best fits their individual needs for fun, success, and growth. If there is not enough teams there will just be a girls division and boys division.

Adult Leagues

The Magic Soccer FC adult leagues consist mainly of amateur soccer players in the Bismarck-Mandan area of North Dakota. Leagues, tournaments, and other adult soccer events are regularly offered throughout the year.

Programming exists for players of all backgrounds and ability levels, including both recreational and competitive settings. Divisions are typically organized, under men's, women's, or coed formats. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to participate in adult league programming, unless parental consent is otherwise granted.

Adult Futsal League

The Adult Futsal league occurs from January to March.  All games are played indoors on turf fields at either Sanford Power or the Fore Seasons Dome.

Each team plays one match per week on either Sunday or Wednesday night.

Three division formats are routinely offered:

1. Competitive: This division is intended for teams who wish to play in a more competitive atmosphere, where most players have experience in club, high school, collegiate, or even professional soccer programs.

2. Coed/Recreational: This division is intended for teams who wish to play in a more casual and fun atmosphere. Each team in the division should have at least two female players per roster, and at least one female player on the field at all times during the games.

3. Coed 40+ Division:  This division is intended for players 40 years of age or older who wish to only play against competition near their own age level.

Games are played under the following format:

  • Game Length - 50 minutes (two 25 minute halves)
  • 5 vs 5  (4 field players + GK)
  • Magic FC club Futsal rules in effect (see document below)

Adult 7v7 League (Spring/Fall)

The adult 7v7  outdoor league plays on Sunday nights at Cottonwood park in Bismarck.

Coed/Recreational and Competitive division settings are typically offered.  True coed rosters are not mandated for the recreational division, but it's suggested that each team have at least two female players per roster to ensure fair competition.

The objective of the league is to provide structured, evenly matched, quality competition while also fostering a fun, friendly, and safe playing environment.

Games are played under the following format:

  • 7 v 7 (including GK)
  • Medium sized playing fields (50 yd X 90 yd)
  • 60 minute matches (two 30 minute halves)
  • 2-man referee system
  • 10 player minimum per team roster
  • Games between 4:00 and 9:00 PM

Due to the inability to schedule double-headers in the outdoor season, and limited options for additional match days, we often require an even number of teams on the schedule. Teams are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis in the event an odd number of teams register for the league.  A team will not be considered fully registered until they have met the mandatory minimum player count of 10 completed registrants.

Free Agent Players

Players wanting to participate in league but who do not currently have a team are encouraged to register individually.

League organizers will make every effort to place you on a team in the division of your choice, however please keep in mind that when registering individually we cannot guarantee entry, as there are sometimes constraints that will prevent placement on other rosters.
